生物医学物理是物理学的一个分支,主要从事将物理技术与方法应用于生物与医学的研究,特别是用于对人的疾病诊断与治疗的研究。暨南大学生物医学工程系生物医学物理方向主要研究的领域包括研发测定人体各种信息的新技术新设备;可无扰、实时、原位测定生物细胞与分子的技术;使用光镊与光剪进行细胞基因/染色体转染的技术;各种物理因子如激光、电磁场及超声与生物组织的相互作用等。暨南大学生物医学工程系生物医学物理方向目前有三名教授与博士导师,六名教研人员,20多名研究生与博士后。拥有如拉曼共焦散射显微镜、组合激光镊与激光剪的激光显微镜超级工作站、可对活细胞内分子成像与检测的8维显微镜、激光动态散射仪等系列先进技术设备。


Biomedical physics is a branch of physics concerned with the application of physics to biology and medicine, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of human disease. Themain areas of interest at present for theBiomedical Physicsin Ji Nan University are in the development of new techniques and devices to measure what is happening in the body and to diagnose and treat disease; in the techniques to perform non-invasive, in situ and real time measurements on the structure and functions of biological cells/molecules and tissues; and in manipulating and transfecting cells using optical tweezers and scissors; in the interactions of physical factors such as laser light, radio electromagnetic waves and ultrasound with biological tissues.The research group of Biomedical physics has 3 professors and 6 personnel as well as 25 graduated students/postdocts. The group are equipped with several advanced techniques and instruments in the world such as a Raman condocal microscopy; a super laser-microscope station with laser tweezers and laser scissors; an eight dimensional microscope which can perform molecular and dynamic imaging on living cells, and some optical technologies for nanoscale measurements such as dynamic/static light scattering.
